Dotted around the Threlfalls' half of the manor house are
fashion prints, vintage clothes, hatboxes and dressmakers'
dummies; Valerie, kind and outgoing, lectures on fashion
history. Expect William Morris fabrics and muslin at sash
windows, a baby grand in the swagged ballroom, a gabled guest
sitting room in the attic. The good-sized Chinese bedroom has
curios brought back from travels; the twin room is smaller. A
conservatory looks onto a huge lawn; seek out the small
Victorian vegetable garden with gravel walkways and the
illuminated Wendy house tucked away beneath giant yews.
